Welcome to the historic 1925 Red Shack farmstead. This small farm property has been operated by El Dorado Farmers Market pioneers Jim and Lois Coalwell for the past 39 years. The farming operation consists of peaches, pears, plums, figs, and nectarines. There is also potential to grow annual crops for local sales and regional Farmers Markets. The classic three bed, two bath 2,022 sq ft farmhouse was built in 1925 and is a blend of old-world charm and modern features including owned solar, a four year old HVAC system, updated kitchen with granite counters, an antique style kitchen stove, and a four year old 50 year roof. After a day's work on the farm, relax on the Trex deck or the peaceful back yard setting. The detached ADU has a one bedroom, one full bath updated apartment with kitchen and a one car garage. An ideal guest/in law quarters, or rental. The farm operation is serviced by a 2EID agricultural water meter and includes a large commercial walk-in cooler for storing produce grown on the farm, and pens for the goats and other animals, along with a hay shed. The tractors and farm implements are negotiable. Nestled in a beautiful setting along State Highway 49, the nine acre property is just 8 minutes to US Highway 50 in Placerville, 26 minutes to the big box stores in Folsom, 10 minutes to the Coloma Gold Discovery State Park on the American River, and about 67 minutes to the Lake Tahoe Basin in Meyers. An added feature is El Dorado County's Old Flume Trail Head across the street from the property. The Old Flume Trail runs from Hwy 49 down to the South Fork of the American River. Perfect for a Sunday hike from your property! If you are longing to escape to the country and live the small farm lifestyle, you have found it....
